I've always enjoyed collecting quotations, one-liners, thought-provoking sayings and other oddities.   Since the web is the perfect place to find cool (and weird) stuff, I used to scour the net, looking for the good stuff.

Sometimes I ran across some neat stuff, but mostly I found hard-to-navigate sites with material that hadn't been edited, simply gathered.   I decided to build my own site, only adding the best material I could find.

The site was quite basic, and had little in the way of navigation.  It was received moderate success, certainly nothing to write home about.  I did little in the way of promotion (though I've since made Sitelaunch to teach people how to make cool sites, and how to tell the world 'em)

Then it happened.  

Yahoo came across my submission, made Coolsig their New Site of the Day, listed right up at the top!  It was quite the experience - the site went from 2-25 visitors a day to over 4,000.  

Since then the site has been noticed by many awards sites, and many people have linked to it from their homepages (thank you!)   A special thank you to Cathie Walker and Amused.com

I add new stuff every day, and send it out to the Coolsig mailing list, where you can check it out if you're subscribed.
